Fair Fun
This year the fair was all about the rides. Raegan wanted to ride all the fast adult rides but due to her height restriction she was only able to ride a few. She rode th ekids rides but she was disappointed that they weren't faster or more dangerous. Apparently I have a trill seeker! Brady did enjoy the kids rides though. He is a bit more cautious than his sister, at least for now. We had Fletchers corn dogs and cotton candy but didn't really induldge too much on the food. We spent all of our money on rides which were $5 per ride. Ryan, my newphew played a couple games and won this UT basketball for Raegan. We also got a cool bubble blower which the kids loved.

Brady loves all things "boy" especially bugs, cars and balls. He is like parrot that repeats everything he hears. He loves playing with Raegan-well, most of the time anyway. He climbs like a monkey. I'm so lucky to have such a sweet boy!

Chicago Fun
At the end of July I went to Chicago to visit my good friend, Amy. This was my first trip away since I've had little ones. I enjoyed every minute of it! I missed my kiddos and hubby but it was so nice to have some time to myself. Since Amy moved, the kids and I have been pretty lonely. We used to get together for playdates a lot. We just mesh well because our kids are around the same ages so our schedules work well together. Even though we haven't known eachother long, Amy is one of my best friends. She is someone I can talk to about anything and she is always full of advice/kind words. I envy her craftiness-she has so much talent! She is also one of the best mothers I know! I hope to get back to visit them soon. Raegan sure misses James and paigee poo. Thank you for being a great hostess!
Princess Tea Party
Raegan's friend, Skyler, hosted a fun tea party. All the girls came dressed up as princesses. Everyone had a blast! The girls decorated cupcakes and with their choice of icing and had lots of yummy toppings to choose from. Raegan loaded hers with orange sugar crystals. Most of the time, she just licks the topping off her cupcakes then gives me the cake part. Whats not to love about the whole cupcake? She had plenty of sugar that day as you can see....

July
We took the kids to a restaurant/arcade place last night. There was a movie playing on a big screen in the dining area that helped keep my kids in their seats. Raegan got her face painted TWICE. I should have known she wouldn't like it because it wasn't what she wanted. She knows what she wants! The gal doing the face painting and I talked her into what we thought would be pretty on her and she didn't agree so the nice lady happily redid it. Brady got his face painted too but wasn't so sure about it so we only got half of his face done. I think he was wondering why we were putting makeup on him :) After dinner and face painting we rode the carosel, the pirate ship and played lots of games. Good times!

Spiderman and Spidergirl
Independence Day! We went to the Derby parade in the morning and then went to my brothers house for their annual fireworks show. The kids loved catching candy and the firetrucks at the parade. They liked doing and seeing fireworks with their cousins. Brady might have enjoyed Cade's big truck more than the fireworks. His favorite toys are trucks/cars.
I'm always calling my kids monkeys because they are major climbers. I bet I get Brady off my kitchen table at least 5-10 times a day. He gets the stool from the bathroom and scoots it where he wants and climbs up. Most of the time he pushes it into the kitchena and climbs on the counters. Drives me crazy! I posted the same picture of Raegan when she was around 2 1/2. Brady is only 18 1/2mo. I'm in trouble!

If not, you can see the top of the couch and get a better idea of how far up he is...
My dear friend, Amy, sent me this beautiful orchid. I love having fresh flowers in my house! It makes me smile every time I walk by them. Thanks Amy!

May-June
We took our first trip to Fossil Rim at the beginning of May. Fossil Rim is a wildlife center where you drive your car (or you can take a tour bus) on a path where the animals roam free. They have all sorts of animals...giraffes, antelope, deer, reindeer, rams, cheetahs (those are gated),zebras to name a few. We bought a bag of food to feed the animals and they would come up to your window (or IN your window) if you had your hand out to feed them. The kids had a blast! We all enjoyed the wildlife and spending time together. My children definitely got my love for animals.
The last week in May was a tough one. The kids and I headed up to Kansas because my Dad had another stroke as well as pnuemonia. His stroke had left him basically paralized from the neck down and unable to swallow anything other than his saliva. The first night I came to town was the day he went into the hospital. After I put the kids down for bed at my moms, I went to hospital to spend the night with him. Even though he was hard to understand we would communicate and I am so glad I was there to comfort him and just spend time with him. He was stable on a little oxygen but about 2am he took a turn for the worst. His oxygen levels were very low and his blood pressure was too low. He was then transferred to the ICU for further care. He was placed in a machine to provide more oxygen and pressure to help open his lungs. He hated the mask! He just kept trying to take it off. Once he was in ICU, I called and had the rest of my siblings and mom come to the hospital. Even with medication they were unable to keep his blood pressure up. My brother, Jeff, was on his way from Dallas. My dad repeatedly asked to go home so we collectivly decided that we should honor his wishes and try to make him as comforatable as possible. He recieved a blessing from a priest, was placed back on some oxygen (WITHOUT a mask) and was given something to help him relax. He was so much more at peace at this point. We were able to bring him home and spend the next couple days with him under hospice care and on June 3, he went to be with his heavenly father. I believe that he was ready to go "home" as in he wanted to be in his own room as well as at peace in heaven. He was surrounded by family when he passed. We miss him so much but knowing he doesn't hurt anymore is comforting. He could make anybody laugh with the stories he'd tell. He will forever be in my heart. I think of him everyday.
The week we returned from Kansas, Raegan was preparing for her dance recital. I think Raegan was born to perform. She may not be the best dancer on the stage but she loves being on stage! She loves to dance or sing for just about anyone. Those that know her well, know she is a drama queen. I'm always saying she may be an actress someday. Here favorite part of the recital was wearing her costume and getting to wear makeup. She was so excited I put makeup on her because I'm usually taking it away from her. Everytime she sees me put makeup on, she wants some too. I tell her she's too pretty to wear makeup. Mommy needs it to cover up all of her flaws. Brian got a couple flowers to give to her after her performance. Raegan had lots of fans...both Grandmas came, her cousins Tori, Jocelyn and Adisyn, Uncle Jeff and Aunt Leanne and Aunt Barbara. Quite the cheering section! I did not tell her to pose in any of these photos....
Before it was 100 degrees, we spent lots of time playing outdoors. Raegan loves to ride her bike. However, since it didn't stay nice(70/80s) around here long we've had to trade in bike riding for swimming. To beat the heat we've spent lots of time swimming, playing at the spray park and eating lots of ice cream/popsicles and/or slurpies. My kids are like fish in the water. It's a win win because it wears them out and I get some sun. At the spray park, I can even sit and relax while they run in the water. Greatness!
Since my mom and niece, Adisyn, were in town the beginning of June, We went to check out the new exhibit at the Dallas Zoo. It was great but I think we'll spend more time going through it when it cools back down. It was REALLY hot so the kids spent most of their time in the kids area playing in the water. We did ride the pony though before leaving. Grandma and I couldn't take the heat anymore!
June was a blur with lots of activities. Brady turned 18mo on the 17th! His vocabulary is expanding everyday. He currently says: "Baw"-ball, whoa, bye bye, hi, momma/mom, dadda/daddy, go, "pop pop"-firecracker, "dhat"-that, car, book, apple, "mo"-more, "cacker"-cracker, no no, buddy-"booty/poopy", bubble, dum-"gum", "nak"-snack, uh-oh, "ear"-here, shoes, hot, juice, eat and "nanna"-banana. He signs "all done" and "more". He loves to read and snuggle and he is SO sweet! His favorite toys are cars, balls and anything he can whack like a hammer and nail set.
Brian's birthday was the day after Father's Day so we had a special weekend of presents and showering him with artwork and kisses. He is wonderful father, husband and provider to our family. We are so blessed to have him in our life!
