Raegan Taylor Guinn is here!
6 pounds, 13 ounces
20 inches long
Raegan surprised her mommy and daddy and decided to come two weeks early. Actually, mommy and daddy thought she would come at the end of March but the sonogram measurements were estimating her due date to be April 14th. Jeni was at work when her water broke. Not knowing for sure if her water had broke or if she just had a full bladder she walked downstairs to labor and delivery to check to see if it was amniotic fluid she was leaking. Sure enough it was. She then called Brian to bring her bag to the hospital.....of course she had the car seat and Raegan's bag already in the car as she was hoping Raegan would decide to come sooner rather than later. Since Jeni wasn't in active labor she finished rounding on her patients and gave report to the next shift before going back down to L & D to check herself in. At around 11 pm Jeni was induced to bring on labor and shortly after she was given an epidural. All was calm as she wasn't feeling her contractions all night. At around 7 am the medicine used to induce labor was increased and at around 8:30 am the Dr. came to check Jeni and she was dilated to an 8 and complete. It was around 9:45 that Jeni was dilated to a 10. With the coaching of her nurse and Brian, Jeni started pushing. At 10:45 am Raegan was here :) Healthy and beautiful.
